Due to the fact that Skyros produces and breeds very good raw materials, combined with the Aegean Sea and the uniqueness of its environment, their products give us a very tasty result.

With the increased livestock farming in goat and sheep products, such as the very tasty meat especially from goats, the production of cheeses such as feta, gruyere and xynotiri, but also a small amount of trahana, we have as a result delicious and traditional products.

In the agricultural sector we have the award-winning fava beans that have a rich and distinctive flavor and our honey, thyme, pine and heather, which when tasted makes you want more.

Due to the island's location in the middle of the Aegean Sea, there are plenty of fish and lobsters, which is why Skyros is famous for its lobster pasta.
On the island they also make traditional pies depending on the season.
Near Theophaneia they make the so-called "marmarites", which are triangular pies with seven-ply dough, red pumpkin, mizithra and various herbs.
They are ideally baked in a ceramic oven to get that golden color and flavor.
At Halloween they make trachanopites and teropteria which are cheese pies with trachana, and herb pies made from wild herbs alone or with cheese.

Generally, all year round you will find in every home as a favorite snack or delicacy for young and old, the "ladopta".
A pie made with flour, which is fried in oil and served with sour cream or honey.

One of the most special and rare dishes that one will encounter in Skyros is "agalipokeftedes" which is a seafood appetizer made from agalipes (sea anemones).

Also, from the end of October to the end of January, one can find mushrooms, pine mushrooms and wild pleurotus in the forest, -"ftitsa" according to the locals - which make a very nice appetizer.

As for sweets, in addition to the classic spoon sweets with various seasonal fruits, they also make loukoumades, which are served with honey, and are the traditional dessert as an invitation and a treat at weddings and baptisms.
